Insurance & Payment
Understanding Your Options for Counseling
I am in network with a number of insurance plans, and I offer private pay for services insurance does not cover. Insurance generally pays for treatment only, so evaluations, letters, and reports are private pay.
Coverage varies quite a bit by plan, so checking your benefits is a good place to start. I am happy to help you check them, or you can call and verify them yourself before we begin so you have an approximation of what your costs will be. If you have questions after reading this page, call me at 216-606-8533 (All Heart Counseling).
If you are paying privately or do not have insurance, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of your costs before we begin, and I will provide one.
Does All Heart Counseling Accept Insurance?
OHIO
All Heart Counseling is contracted with several insurance carries in Ohio:
- Aetna
- Anthem
- Medical Mutual
- CareSource Ohio
- Medicare
- Molina
- Aetna, Anthem, and Medical Mutual Medicare Advantage plans
- TRICARE and CHAMPVA
Out-of-network benefits
If your plan is not listed (Cigna, United Health Care) you may still have out-of-network coverage. I can submit claims to your insurer on your behalf, or provide a superbill for you to submit yourself.
Payment is due at the time of service, and any reimbursement is between you and your plan.
If you are outside of Ohio
I am fully licensed in Ohio, Indiana, Georgia, and Florida. I can see you in any of those states at this time whether you live there or are traveling.
Licensure and insurance coverage are two separate questions. My license determines where I am permitted to see you. Your plan determines whether the session is paid for, and that depends on your specific plan.
I do not contract with insurance companies in Indiana, Georgia, or Florida. If your coverage originates in one of those states, sessions are generally private pay, though your plan may have out-of-network benefits worth checking.
If your plan is based in Ohio and you are traveling, coverage may continue, but this varies by plan. Contact me before you travel and we can look into it together.
Medicaid works differently. Medicaid is administered by the state that issued it, and coverage generally does not extend to services received in another state. If you have Ohio Medicaid and expect to travel, talk with me before you go so we can sort out timing rather than have a session denied after the fact.
Medicare generally follows you nationwide.
**If you are moving out of state,** tell me as early as you can. Depending on where you are going, I may be able to continue seeing you, though insurance often will not cover sessions in a state where I am not fully licensed. We will look at the options together.
Private pay services
Some services are not billed to insurance:
- Evaluations, reports, and letters, including VA nexus letters, disability claim reports, and assistance animal letters
- Relationship or family sessions where the work is focused on the relationship itself rather than treatment of a diagnosed condition
- The Q&A call, which is 20 minutes and costs $50

If cost is the obstacle
If insurance will not cover the care you need, tell me. I am willing to work out a private payment arrangement where I can. I would rather find a way to continue care than have it stop over billing.
